Remarked Following accusations of sexual assault made by a female actress on August 24, Malayalam actor and producer Siddique resigned on Sunday from his position as general secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Siddique acknowledged in a statement that he had given AMMA President Mohanlal his letter of resignation. Indeed. I have officially submitted my resignation to Mohanlal, the organization’s president. I have decided not to continue in my role and have resigned because of the charges made against me,” Siddique stated.
After inviting the female actress to a movie discussion, the actor claimed that Siddique had sexually abused her. The accusations are being examined more closely in the Malayalam film industry in the wake of the Justice Hema Committee report, which brought to light pervasive problems with harassment and exploitation in the business.
